Please note 2011 working hours for most government offices is 0800-1500 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 0800-1300 and 1400-1700 on Thursdays.
The Girne Land Registry is open to the Public 0830-1200 and 1430-1530 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 0830-1200 and 1400-1700 on Thursdays.
The Girne Tax Office is open to the Public 0800-1430.
Girne Kaymakamlak is open on Monday from 0800-1330 and 1545-1730 and Tuesday-friday from 0800-1330.
Prime Ministry, Lefkoşa
Heading into Lefkoşa on the Girne-Lefkoşa road carry straight on until you reach the second set of main traffic lights. Take the left slip road just before the traffic lights (by the Jeep showroom) past the school which is on your left, approximately 200 mts down the road divides into a one way system with a tree lined Island in the middle. The Prime Minister's building (KKTC Başbakanlik) is on the right and a small car park on the left and usually some parking spaces on the road. Entrance is through the security office to the left of the main gate.
Interior Ministry, Lefkoşa
Heading into Lefkoşa on the Girne-Lefkoşa road carry straight on until you reach the second set of main traffic lights. Take the left slip road just before the traffic lights (by the Jeep showroom), continue to the end bearing slightly right and you will see a sign for Içişleri Bakanlığı pointing you through to the Interior Ministry's car park. The main entrance is towards the back as you drive in.
The Permission to Purchase (Taşinmaz Mal Birimi) office is on the first floor, turn right at the top of the stairs, through the double doors, turn right to the end of the corridor, turn right and the office is the first door on your left marked Taşınmaz Mal Bırımı. Permission to Purchase office 00 90 (0)392 611 1127.
Immigration (for residency renewal) is situated on the ground floor and the Land Registry (for district site plans) on the fourth floor.
Resmi Katz (Companies House), Lefkoşa
Heading into Lefkoşa on the Girne-Lefkoşa road carry straight on until you almost reach the second set of main traffic lights. Turn left, which takes you behind the Jeep showroom. Resmi Katz is the second building on your right (parking outside can be difficult). Please take along the company's registration number (MŞ nnnn) and a selection of postage stamps as you need at least 25 lira for your enquiry. Some of the staff speak English and are very helpful.
Kaymakamlik, Girne
If you know the project file number you can visit the Kaymakamlik office to enquire on it's status. The office is situated next to Girne General Hospital on the same road as the courts. The car park is around the back. Coming from the courts (on your left) you turn left just before the hospital (see Kaymakamlik signpost) and follow the road down and turn right just after it bends to the left. Take the first right turn and pass a large glass government building. The entrance to the car park is signposted. For all enquiries you will need a copy of your stamped sales agreement and any other relevant documents.
Land Registry, Girne
The land registry office is in the same grey stone building as the courts, next to Girne main post office. For general enquiries it is advisable to visit in the afternoon.
Tax Office, Girne has moved
The office is situated behind Girne General Hospital and the Kaymakamlik on the same road as the courts. The car park is around the back. Coming from the courts (on your left) you turn left just before the hospital (see Kaymakamlik signpost) and follow the road down and turn right just after it bends to the left. Take the first right turn and the Tax Office is located inside the large glass government building on your right. In the main doors head diagonally left.
Kibtek Project Office, Girne
Going down the "High Street" from the Square turn right at the crossroads (heading towards the harbour). The projects office is half way down on the right hand side. Go up the wooden stairs and one of the English speaking staff will help you. If you don't know the electrical project number please take along your sales agreement, a copy of the koçan and a district site plan.
